RD125
PROXIMITY READER
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
innovative in electronics
DESCRIPTION
The RD 125 is a proximity reader for
TAG-RFID cards or fobs
(radiofrequency contactless reading)
Developed with last generation
electronics that ensure high reliability
and functional security.
Combined with a base station it relays
activation/movement orders to access
control systems, alarm systems, motor
controllers, home automation systems,
etc.
It is designed for industrial, commercial
and/or residential enviroments.
OPERATION
The RD 125 reader detects and communicates with a
RFID key tag or card that is closer than 6 cm (aprox). It
analyzes the key code and sends the access request to
the base station, which conñrms the code and access
privileges. If access is granted the base station activates
a relay.
The RD 125 reader has a dual color led that lights red
when there is no key and green when it detects a key.
Green does not mean access grant, just that a valid key
has been detected.
APPLICATIONS
The RD 125 reader has been designed for identiñcation
and reading of RFID tags and cards. Connected to a
base station it is a reliable system for home automation,
security, access control and control activation.
INSTALLATION
Check the integrity of the product before installing.
It can be installed embedded in a standard switch
Ÿ
case or with a surface separator and cover.
It must be separated from metallic parts or similar
Ÿ
elements. Being a radiofrequency system they can
cause interference limiting the reach and making
power consumption higher.
The RS 485 BUS allows up to 500m wiring distances
Ÿ
depending on the wire used. It also allows up to 32
devices in the same bus assuming there is power for
all of them.
THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OF THE
DAMAGES A BAD INSTALLATION OR MISUSE CAN
CAUSE.
Wiring
Wiring is done with just four wires connected to the
terminal block in the back. Two of these wires are for
power and the other two for data (connection with base
station). See Fig.1
Positive (+)
Connect the positive pole
of +12VDC
Negative (-)
Connect the negative pole
of power.
Line (A)
Connect the A line of the
RS 485 BUS
Line (B)
Connect the B line of the
RS 485 BUS
The RS 485 BUS is used in half duplex mode with just
two wires.
All devices in the BUS must share the same connection.
A terminals must be connected to A terminals and B
terminals must be connected to B terminals. See Fig.2
