3. Gently apply 1 to 2 pumps of #2 multi-purpose
lithium-base grease.
4. Install the grass bag.
Adjusting the Blade Brake
Cable
Whenever you install a new blade brake cable assembly,
adjust it.
1. Stop engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug (Fig. 6).
3. Move the control bar toward the handle until you
remove the slack in the wire (Fig. 32).

Note: The gap between the brake lever and the handle
must be 3/16 to 1/4 in. (5 to 6 mm). See step 4 for the
adjustment.
4. Loosen the jam nut on the brake cable (Fig. 33).

5. Insert a 3/16 to 1/4 in. (5 to 6 mm) object between the
brake lever and the handle (Fig. 32).
6. Turn the cable adjuster on the brake cable until you
remove the slack (Fig. 33).
7. Tighten the nut.

Servicing the Wheels

Removing the Wheels
1. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug (Fig. 6).
3. Remove the bolt, the wheel spacer, and the locknut
mounting the wheel to the pivot arm (Fig. 34).

4. Separate the wheel halves from the tire by removing 4
bolts and 4 locknuts (Fig. 34).
Note: If you remove the bearings from the bearing/hub
assembly, remove them by pressing on the bearing spacer
(Fig. 34).
