If distortion is heard in the system then either reduce the signal going to the power amp
or turn the amp down itself.
If all wiring is followed carefully and distortion is kept out of the system your Evolite
enclosures will give optimum performance for many years. In the unlikely event of driver
failure please see section on warranty and driver replacement.
High frequency protection
The compression drivers used are fitted with a protection circuit which consists of a PTC
device in series with the unit. This is normally a short circuit but under excessive or
extreme load conditions the device becomes an open circuit sending the high frequency
signal via a bypass resistor. This acts as an attenuator to avoid damage to the
compression drivers voice coil and diaphragm.
When the device switches, a noticeable drop in high frequency will be evident and at this
point the overall signal should be reduced. The PTC will detect the decrease and become
a short circuit again allowing full power to reach the driver. A certain length of time is
needed for the PTC to reset itself as it works by current generated heat i.e it needs time to
cool down after an overload.
Evolite 12
The Evolite 12 is a compact 2-way full range enclosure designed to be stand mounted,
(35mm top hat is fitted as standard), for use as a small band PA or flown using approved
flying hardware for installation purposes (see later section on flying the cabs). It is a bass
reflex design being tuned to 55Hz using a single port. The cabinet is rated at 300 watts
RMS and it is recommended that amplifiers producing 250-400 watts into 8 ohms are
used.
Evolite 15
The Evolite 15 is also a 2-way full range enclosure which can be used in pairs mounted
on 35mm top hat stands or flown for install and larger sound reinforcement applications.
It is a bass reflex design using two ports tuned to 50Hz and is rated at 350 watts. We
recommend that amplifiers producing 300-500 watts into 8 ohms are used.

Both cabinets are fitted with 35mm pole mount fixings and also steel roping eye flypoints.
Precautions: Safety is of paramount importance when suspending loudspeaker systems.
Overhead rigging requires the experience of a qualified structural rigger who will be aware
of working load limits, hardware installation and periodic safety inspection.
Improper installation can result in injury or death as structural reinforcement of the
building may be necessary .
