It is recommended to enable encryption on your wireless router before your wireless network adapters. Please establish
wireless connectivity before enabling encryption. Your wireless signal may degrade when enabling encryption due to the
added overhead. You can configure the DIR-685 to use the 802.1x protocol by enabling the Extensible Authentication
Protocol (EAP). Carry out the following steps to configure EAP on the DIR-685:
1..Log into the web-based configuration by opening a web browser
and entering the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1). Click on.
Setup.and then click.Wireless.Setup on the left side.
2..Click the Manual.Wireless.Connection.Setup button.
3. Next to Security Mode, select Enable.WPA/WPA2.Wireless........
Security.(enhanced).
4. Next to Cypher Type, select TKIP, AES, or Both.
5. Next to PSK / EAP select EAP from the drop-down menu.
6. Next to RADIUS Server IP Address, enter the IP address of your
RADIUS Server.
7. Enter the port used by your RADIUS Server in the Port field.
8. Enter the Shared Secret used by your RADIUS Server in the Shared Secret field.
9. Click Save.Settings to save your settings.
