    ASSEMBLY IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. Be certain to service engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the Operation section of the Engine Manual before starting or running your machine. NOTE: Reference to right and left hand side of the Lawn Mower is observed from the operating position.

    ASSEMBLY Release lever towards deck. Attaching Side Discharge Chute Your mower is shipped as a mulcher. To convert to side discharge, follow the steps below. On the side of the mower, lift the mulch plug. See Figure 4. Slide two hooks of side discharge chute under hinge pin on mulch plug assembly and position hole in the chute over and on to the deck stud located behind the discharge opening.

  • Page 11 OPERATION Oil Drain Hose The oil drain hose is fastened to the deck of your mower behind the engine. When the time comes to change the engine oil, simply pull up on the hose and position it over an appropriate container. Unscrew the cap to begin draining the oil. Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick Refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual packed with your mower for detailed oil filling, checking and changing instructions.
  • Page 12 OPERATION Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or an oil/gasoline mixture. Avoid getting dirt or water in the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank cap. Fill the fuel tank with fuel. To allow for expansion of the fuel, do not fill above the bottom of the fuel tank neck.
  • Page 13 OPERATION While continuing to hold the blade and drive controls together, push the drive control forward to propel mower. See Figure 11. The farther the control is pushed forward, the faster the mower will propel. Once pressure is released from the control it will return to the neutral position and the drive will be disengaged.

Clean Engine • Daily or before every use, clean grass, chaff or accumulated debris from engine. Keep linkage, spring, and controls clean. Keep area around and behind muffler free of any combustible debris.
  • Page 16 SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE Remain in the operator’s position with the cutting deck engaged for a minimum of two minutes, allowing the underside of the cutting deck to thoroughly rinse. Release the blade control to disengage the cutting deck and stop the blades. Push and hold the ON/OFF switch until the mower engine stops.

    TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground it against the engine to prevent unintended starting. Before performing any type of maintenance/service, disengage all controls and stop the engine. Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
