We recommend that installation and repair of this Hearthstone pellet stove only by a qualified Hearthstone dealer. We recommend inspection of the stove and venting before use and at least annually by a qualified service person. Periodic cleaning is required throughout the heating season and at the end of each winter for the stove to work safely and efficiently. -

FUEL STANDARDS The importance of consistent fuel and quality controls became apparent in the early years of residential pellet appliances. Fuel characteristics are crucial factors in appliance performance and maintenance. The Fiber Fuels Institute (FFI) and the Association of Pellet Fuel Industries (APFI) adopted national standards recognizing acceptable criteria for these characteristics in 1991.
