    LEONARDO SP instructions 2 - 01 SAFETY General information The machine is designed to be operated by just one person in all operating conditions, including maintenance. The use of additional personnel is not only unnecessary, it is prohibited for safety reasons.

    LEONARDO SP instructions 2 - 02 SAFETY Exposure of personnel to moving parts of the machine can create situations of grave danger for their safety. It is strictly prohibited to start the machine unless all its fixed guards are properly installed.

  • Page 19 LEONARDO SP instructions 2 - 05 SAFETY Safety devices Functions of the EMERGENCY stop button The emergency stop is performed by pressing the mushroom head emergency button on the control panel (Fig. 5). The button operates a safety circuit that trips to stop all machine movements.

    3 - 01 MACHINE DESCRIPTION LEONARDO SP stretch wrapper robot LEONARDO SP is a self-propelled machine used for shrink wrapping pallets. Operation of the machine is semiautomatic because film attachment, detachment and cutting at cycle end are performed by an operator. The machine is composed of a mast, machine body, two drive wheels, one tracing wheel, steering rudder for manual mode operation.

    LEONARDO SP instructions 4 - 02 COMMISSIONING Charging the batteries Check the battery charge by switching on the machine and then wait until the word BATTERY appears on the display under the current program number, with the battery voltage value alongside.

    LEONARDO SP instructions 4 - 03 COMMISSIONING Powering on the robot Turn the key selector switch (Fig. 14), press the ON button on the control panel, the visual indicator (Fig.15) will illuminate, the display will show the software number followed by the currently active program number.

Grasp the rudder and use the forward-reverse buttons (Fig. 16) to move the machine in all directions.

    LEONARDO SP instructions 5 - 01 USING THE MACHINE Preliminary settings from the control panel The various machine parameters can be set up from the control panel (Fig. 22). Insert the key into the selector switch and turn it to power on the machine.

The machine takes an average of 12 seconds to travel around an 80 x 120 cm Europallet.

Specific safety precautions Before returning the machine to service, re-check it in accordance with the start-up procedure. • Do not use flammable or toxic solvents such as petrol, benzene, ether and alcohol. • Avoid prolonged contact with solvents and do not inhale solvent vapours. • Never use water jets to extinguish electrical fires; use CO2 fire extinguishers.
