Before you put device into operation
Put the fountain pump into a shallow pond or a similar place and switch on. Through various
nose pieces, the pumped water is sprayed out in different patterns.
For operation, the fountain pump should be submerged in water at 30 - 40 cm depth, so that the
extension tube and a selected nose piece would rise over the water level.
At that, do not put the pump into bottom sludge, but use some slightly raised plat-
form.
Using the T-socket supplied with the device you can attach (if desired) another nose piece or a
hose e.g. for watering the garden.
Never block both shutoff valves of the T-socket, otherwise the fountain pump can be
damaged!
A grip on the top enables to fasten the fountain pump additionally with a rope.
Never hold or fasten the fountain pump by the mains cabel or the hose; only the grip
on the top can be used for this purpose.
The fountain pump can only be operated in the upright position!
The pumped water should be clean and clear. Only fi ne suspended matter is admissible, which
may occur in every normal garden pond. Otherwise the nose pieces will be occluded!
Coarser impurities (leaves, dirt particles, pebbles etc.) occlude the suction ports; furthermore,
they block the pump.

Getting started

Insert the mains plug of the fountain pump to a mains socket.
The fountain pump starts immediately and begins pumping water.
If the water is not pumped, it can be indicative of air in the pump. Wait for few seconds or
remove and insert the plug briefl y from the mains socket for several times.

Removing from service

Should the fountain pump be taken out of service (e.g. for cleaning, maintenance or storage in
winter), then proceed as follows:
• Disconnect the fountain pump from the power supply, pull the mains plug out of the mains
socket.
• Take the fountain pump out of the water using the carrier handle (or the fastening rope
attached).
Never lift the fountain pump using the hose or the mains cord! Otherwise the power
cord may get damaged, risk of an electric shock!
• If a hose is mounted to the fountain pump (e.g. via the T-socket), then disconnect it from the
fountain pump.
• Let the residual water drain out of the fountain pump holding it slantwise.
• Dry up the fountain pump and the power cord. If required, clean its outer surface and fi lter.
Wind up the mains cable.
• In winter, keep the water pump in a dry space protected against frost.
Also do not forget to empty the hoses laid outdoor to avoid frost damages; open
water taps if available.
• Only the carrying handle can be used to carry the fountain pump. Never hold it using the hose
or the mains cord.
• A small quantity of water remains in the fountain pump after use or after the emptying opera-
tion. Therefore, when storing or transporting the pump in a vehicle, use an appropriate mat.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before cleaning disconnect the fountain pump from the mains; remove the mains plug from
the power socket.
Use a soft clean cloth to clean the outer surfaces of the fountain pump. If necessary rinse the
outer surface with clear water.
The lower part of the fi lter can be removed from the fountain pump to facilitate cleaning of the
fi lter and interior parts of the pump. Only clean running water can be used for this purpose.
You can also remove the impeller. At that, before you take out the impeller, you have to over-
come certain resistance due to magnetic force.
After cleaning reassamble the fountain pump completely and properly.
Before putting in storage, dry up the fountain pump and the power cord.
Never use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions,
since these can damage the housing or even impair functionality.
Disposal
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
