Step 1: • Place two 5” x 5” posts 2.9m apart measured from the outside of the posts. Use decking screws to secure the 3.5m x 3”...
  • Page 5 Step 2: • Repeat step 1 for the other 4 x 3m x 5” x 5” posts.
  • Page 6 Step 3: • The dimensions of the pergola should be roughly 4.2m x 2.9m as measured from the outside of the posts. Position your posts in this position, dig holes 600mm deep for them and place the posts in the ground.
  • Page 7 Step 4: • You should now secure the 4 x 4.5m x 6” x 2” wall plates to the top of the posts using 120mm screws (2 onto each post). Make sure the bottom of the notches of the wall plates are higher than the top of the posts and that the wall plates are overhanging the same amount on all sides.

  • Page 9 Step 6: • Press the 3.5m joists into the notches cut out of the wall plates and make sure the joist overhang is the same on both sides. Secure using decking screws.
