WARNINGS CONTINUED
12. Always fasten harness securely around
child. Periodically check placement of harness,
especially for a sleeping child. Do not allow any
of the child's body, clothing, shoelaces or toys
to come in contact with moving parts of the
bicycle, as this can lead to entrapments and cause
injury or death to both the rider and the child.
13. Instruct your child not to bounce, rock
or lean. Sudden shifting of weight can lead
to serious injury or death to you and
your passenger.
14. Presence of a child carrier on a bicycle
may require alteration of the method used by
the rider to mount or dismount the bicycle, as
well as reduce the movability of the handlebar.
Care must be taken whenever the rider gets on
or off the bicycle. It is recommended that a
change to the handlebar is made if the
reduced angle of steering to each side is
less than 45 degrees.
15. Cyclist must be an experienced, strong
rider weighing 100 pounds or more.
16. Do not use a kickstand or other parking

carrier attached. Attaching a carrier can
change the balance of the bicycle making
kickstands ineffective. The bicycle can fall
over, damaging it and the carrier.
17. Do not transport bicycle on an automobile
with the child carrier attached. The force of the
high wind on the carrier may degrade or
damage the carrier to the point that it will not
perform reliably.
IMPORTANT

• Make sure that the brake cables and gears do not get in the way of the mount.
• Attach mounting bracket around seat tube of bicycle only.
Do NOT attach mounting bracket to seat post.

conditions. Children should be properly
clothed to be protected from the elements.
Check the temperature of the child carrier
before placing child in it to make sure the
carrier is not too hot.
20. Never install both a rear child carrier and a
front child carrier on a single bicycle.
21. Do not mount anything else to the carrier
rack except for the Bell child carrier.
22. When no child is being carried, fasten the
retention system buckles so the straps do not
hang loosely and potentially become trapped
in any moving parts of the bicycle.
23. Before each ride, ensure the mounted
carrier does not interfere with braking,
pedaling, or steering of the bicycle.
24. A rear re ector that complies with CPSC
regulations must be visible whether the carrier
is on the bicycle or not.
25. Tighten fasteners securely and check
