Dispose
One handed technique with blade covered:
1. Place thumb on side of
handle behind cartridge.
2. Push forward to unload
protected blade.
Things to Remember:
The BD Bard-Parker Protected Blade System has been

designed to minimize the risk of surgical blade injuries that
occur before use, during passing and between steps of the
procedure, after use and during disposal.
The protective shield is easily activated with one finger by
•
depressing the top button and sliding the shield to the "in
use" or "protected" position. The scalpels are virtually the
same size and weight as conventional scalpels.
