Cleaningandcare
Each time you use the appliance you should clean it
afterwards.
Caution
Never use petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners,


metal objects or hard brushes to clean the
appliance.
Never put the appliance or power cord


or any other liquid.

Turn the appliance off and disconnect it from the
earthed wall socket.

Let the appliance cool down completely.

Use a damp, soft cloth with a little mild cleanser
to clean the exterior of the appliance.

Only the filter basket and thermal jug can be
cleaned in a dishwasher or under running water.

Dry all parts thoroughly with a soft cloth after
cleaning.

Use the brush provided to dust coffee grains from
the coffee grinder mechanism and the coffee bean
chute lid.

Disconnect the plug from the earthed wall socket.

Insert the flat end of the cleaning brush handle into
the lock of the coffee bean chute and turn the lock
to the "unlock" position.

Lift up the lid of the coffee bean chute.

Use the brush to sweep ground coffee residues into
the lower part of the chute.

To prevent ground coffee residues falling into


the filter basket, place a paper filter or attached
permanent filter

Close the lid of the coffee bean chute and turn the
lock to the "lock" position.

Remove the ground coffee residues and throw it
away.
Caution
You should clean the coffee bean chute every


1-2 weeks, depending on how often you use it.
If left uncleaned, there is a risk that the ground
coffee residues will block the chute and damage
the appliance.

Descalingthecoffeemaker

To extend the life of your coffee maker, descale it at
least four times a year. If the water in your area is very
hard, you will need to descale it more frequently.

Buy a descaling solution that can specifically be
used in coffee makers.

Read the manufacturer's instructions for the
descaling solution carefully and follow them if they
differ from the instructions below.

Fill the water tank to about level 8 with water and
then put in the descaling solution. (Mixing ratio:
four parts water to one part descaling solution.)

Make sure the grinding function is off and then turn
the brewing function on. Let about one large coffee
cup gather in the thermal jug.

Turn the coffee maker off and let the mixture soak
for about 15 minutes.

Repeat steps 4 and 5.

Turn the coffee maker on and let the rest of the
liquid run through the machine.

Fill the water tank with cold, fresh drinking water
and start the brewing process to run all of the
water through.

Repeat step 8 four times.
