6) Additional Suggestions
For best lighter performance, use only premium butane
lighter fuel.
If possible, keep the Firelight above freezing, and carry
it close to your body in extremely cold weather. In low
temperatures, it may be necessary to warm the lighter
for a few seconds before igniting.
Do not touch the burner coil with any object.
The flame should extinguish immediately upon release
of the ignition lever. If the flame briefly continues to
burn after the lever has been released, move the flame
adjuster closer to the minus (-) sign.
At elevations above 4500' (1500m), turn the flame
adjuster closer to the minus (-) sign to improve ease of
ignition.
For long term reliability, use compressed air to keep the
chamber free of debris and carbon buildup.
IMPORTANT: International aviation regulations
strictly prohibit the shipping or carrying of butane
gas on all commercial airlines. Before taking the
Firelight on an aircraft, press in on the fuel inlet valve
with a ballpoint pen or other suitable object until all
butane gas has been released from the lighter. Check
with your airline for additional information.
