can provide.
Only use configuration "A" when using the urethane spring.
Suggestions for using the Mate Rollerball Deburr™ Tool:
The Rollerball Deburr™ tool is used like the Mate Sheetmarker™ tool. Auto index is not necessary.
When setting up the tool in the CAM software, it is easiest to follow the edges of the part(s) on the CAD drawing. Depending on
the CAM software, the tool may be run as a nibble offset. Have the tool follow a path parallel (about .020" or 0,5mm) to the edge
to be deburred (inside the hole for an interior contour and outside the part for an exterior contour). Doing this might further improve
edge quality.
This tool is capable of deburring both sides of a .197" (5,0mm) wide parting slot in material as thin as .031" (0,8mm) in a single path.
It is not capable of .197" (5,0mm) wide slots in thinner materials. Thicker materials will allow a wider slot to a maximum allowable
of .335" (8,5mm) wide. Example: .059" (1,5mm) thick material can deburr across a slot width of .295"(7,5mm) while .079" (2,0mm)
thick material reaches the maximum limit of .335" (8,5mm) wide.
Rollerball Deburr has about .05"(1,25mm) of spring travel. Setting up the tool is very similar to any form tool. Note tool length (see
illustration). Set the machine so the tool will just pinch the sheet. Then adjust machine settings to lower the tool about .02" (0,5mm).
Hover height (UDP) could be set like a punching tool.
Run the tool at maximum speed of 1,500 inches (~38 meters) per minute.
If the machine has a software option for a carving tool (type 33):
For single edge deburring, set the values to: WZL (tool length) 38,0mm; Die 20,78mm; UT (LDP) 1,8mm; S-1,0mm
For a .197" (5,0mm) parting slot, set the values to: WZL (tool length) 38,0mm; Die 20,78mm; UT (LDP) 1,0mm; S-1,0mm
The rollerballs in the Rollerball Deburr tool should be lightly oiled with ISO grade 68 or an automotive grade SAE 20 to 30 weight oil.
Only use clean sheet metal; contaminants can enter the rollerballs and reduce product life.
The Mate Rollerball Deburr tool may be run over "snap apart tabs." The tabs, however, will be weakened somewhat by this
operation. It is best to increase the width of the tabs by 10-20%.
