Mounting-/Operation Instruction for Temperature Sensor 2.4GHz
General Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of this nobilé-product! You have decided on a high-quality product which is manufactured
with the utmost care and subject to several quality controls. Safe use of the product is only guaranteed if each instruction
is followed accordingly. In case of damage caused by non-observance of these instructions the warranty expires. The
installation and electrical connection must be done by an authorized expert (e.g. electrician) in compliance with existing
standards and local code. Prior to any installation or maintenance work, mains must be disconnected. Before putting in
operation, make sure any component of the entire installation does not bear a risk of life. According to common practice,
please perform a standard function test, before installing. To make maintenance work possible, the lighting system should
be accessible after installation.
The Temperature Sensor 2.4GHz monitors your home environment by transmitting temperature signals to the Almond
Gateway. The Temperature Sensor utilizes 2.4GHz frequency for wireless signal transmission. The IEEE802.15.4
standard, allows a large amount of devices to be included in a network and coordinated for data exchange and signal
transmission. The Temperature Sensor serves as an end device in the network. It can be included in the network to transmit
signal upon activation, but cannot permit any other device to join the network through the Temperature Sensor.
Parts Identification
1.
Temperature Sensor
2.
Function Button
Press the button once to:
Send a supervision and temperature signal
Press and hold for 10 seconds then release to reset the Temperature
Sensor
3.
LED Indicator
Flashes twice quickly: The Temperature Sensor has successfully
joined the Almond Gateway.
Flashes once every 20 minutes: The Temperature Sensor has lost
connection to its current Almond Gateway.
4. Battery Compartment
The Temperature Sensor is powered by one 1/2 AA 3V Lithium battery
Network Setup
Since performing a task in connecting network may consume some power, it is required to follow the
instructions to avoid draining battery of the device
1.
Ensure your Almond Gateway is powered on before inserting battery into the device.
2.
Ensure the Almond Gateway is powered on and within range while a device is in use.
3.
Do not remove the device from the Almond Gateway without removing the battery from a device.
Self-adhesive mounting
1.
Clean the surface of back cover with a suitable degreaser.
2.
Remove the protective covering from one side of the double-sided adhesive pad and firmly apply to the back of
the back cover.
3.
Next remove the other cover and firmly press the Temperature Sensor onto the desired location.
Screw mounting
1.
Remove the front cover
2.
Break through the knockouts on the back cover.
3.
Using the holes as a template, drill holes in the surface
4.
Insert the wall plugs if fixing into plaster or brick
5.
Screw the back cover into the wall plugs
6.
Mount the front cover back on to the back cover. The installation is now complete.
Joining the Almond Gateway
As a Smartmatic device, the Temperature Sensor needs to join the Almond Gateway to transmit temperature signal.
Please follow the steps bellow to join the Temperature Sensor into the Gateway.
1.
Pull out the battery insulator to connect the battery. This will power on the Temperature Sensor
2.
Press and hold the function button for 10 seconds as the Siren resets and starts searching for existing Almond
Gateway. Please make sure the permit-to-join feature on the Gateway is enabled.
3.
If the Temperature Sensor successfully joins the Almond Gateway, the LED Indicator will flash twice to confirm.
After joining the Almond Gateway, the Temperature Sensor will be registered in the network automatically.
4.
5.
Please check your Almond Gateway to confirm if joining and registration is successful.
6.
After joining the Gateway, if the Temperature Sensor loses connection with current Gateway, the LED will flash
every 20 seconds to indicate. Please check your Gateway condition and Temperature Sensor signal range to
correct the situation.
The connection of the sensors among themselves or to the gateway can take up to 30 min after a temporary
7.
interruption of the gateway.
Factory Reset
If you want to remove the Temperature Sensor from current network and join a new network, you need to use the Factory
Reset function to clear the Temperature Sensor for its stored setting and information first before it can join another network.
To perform Factory Reset:
1.
Press and hold the function button for 10 seconds, release the button when the LED flashes once.
2.
The Temperature Sensor has been reset to factory default setting with all its previous network information
removed. It will now actively search for available Gateway again and join the network automatically.
3.
If the Temperature Sensor successfully joins a Gateway, the LED Indicator will flash twice to indicate.
Temperature Detection
The Temperature Sensor will transmit temperature signals regularly according to setting. The factory default interval is 10
minutes. When the temperature changes by +/- 2°C, the Temperature Sensor will also transmit a signal.
You can also press the Function Button once to transmit a temperature signal manually.
The temperature detection range is about -10°C ~ 50°C.( 14°F ~ 122°F)
Battery and Low Battery Detection
The Temperature Sensor uses one 3V Lithium CR2 battery as its power source.
The Temperature Sensor feature Low Battery Detection function. When the battery voltage is low, the Temperature Sensor
will transmit Low Battery signal to the Almond Gateway. When changing battery, after removing the old batteries, press
the Function Button twice to fully discharge before inserting new battery.
Supervision
The Temperature Sensor will transmit a supervision signal along with the temperature signal to report its condition regularly.
The factory default interval is 10 minutes, which can be adjusted according to setting.
Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
