5. OPERATION
WARNING! Before operating the extractor ensure that you
read, understand and apply the safety instructions in
Section 1.
5.1.
Push the exhaust cone onto the vehicle exhaust pipe. the
exhaust cone cover has a series of slots and holes across
each axis. depending on the size of the exhaust pipe it may
be necessary to carefully slit the face of the cover with a
sharp knife equally along each axis to allow the cover to fit
(refer to fig.4). Alternatively, if the exhaust pipe is a suitable
size, the cover can be completely removed.
5.2.
there is no power switch on the unit itself, it is turned on and
off at the power supply or by a switch that may be wired into
the circuit. ensure set-up is complete and the cone is suitably
positioned before switching on the exhaust extractor.
5.3.
there is a port on the side of the cone (refer to fig.4) which
allows the connection of a gas analyser probe if required.
Note: take care to ensure that there is no possibility of paper,
plastic or other foreign bodies being sucked into the extractor
cone.
5.4.
After use, ensure that the cone and hosing are removed from
the vehicle exhaust pipe before moving the vehicle.
5.5.
store the hosing in such a way that it does not present a trip
hazard or a danger in the work area.

Maintenance to the exhaust extractor electric motor
should only be performed by a qualified electrician.
Periodically check the hosing and ducting for holes and
damage. replace as necessary.
