  • Page 8 Operating your hearing instrument with the remote control At any time you can operate your hearing instruments by operating the controls on your hearing instruments or by pressing the desired function on your remote control. The most recent adjustment you have made will be the current setting in your hearing instrument.
  • Page 9 For example, if the push button is used to set the hearing instrument to Program 2 and you then press Program 1 on your remote control the new hearing instrument setting will be Program1.
  • Page 10 Operating distance With the remote control, you can operate your hearing instru- ment from a distance of up to 1 meter (about the length of your arm). The remote control can be operated from within your pocket or handbag. A direct line of sight between the remote control and your hearing instrument is not required.

  • Page 12 3 Listening programs Your hearing instrument can be programmed with 3 different listening programs (see page 3).   • Page 13 Program Button Sequence The 3 program buttons on your remote control correspond to the three programs in your hearing instrument. When you use the remote control buttons to change programs your hearing instrument will beep indicating which program you are liste- ning to.
  • Page 14 Battery replacement To insert a new battery (CR 2) • Use your fingernail to gently remove the battery drawer.
  • Page 15 • Take out the used battery. • Before you insert the new battery make sure to match the «+» sign on the battery with the «+» sign in the battery compartment. • Place the battery in the compartment making sure that the battery is properly connected at both ends.
  • Page 16 • Place the battery drawer on top of the compartment. Never force the battery drawer closed. • The battery indicator flashes green Battery indicator while the battery is good, and red when it needs to be replaced. • Battery life will vary with conditions of use.
  • Page 17 Care of your remote control • When changing the battery or cleaning your remote control, hold it over a soft surface to avoid damage if you accidentally drop it. • Keep your remote control clean. Wipe it regularly with a dry cloth or tissue.
  • Page 18 • Your remote control should never be exposed to extreme heat. Do not leave it in the glove box of your car. Environmental protection Help to protect the environment by not disposing of your remote control or batteries with your unsorted household waste.
  • Page 19 Warnings and additional safety guidelines You should familiarize yourself completely with this booklet before using your remote control. A dead battery should be removed as soon as possible. Used batteries should be returned to your battery supplier or hearing care professional. Never dispose of batteries by burning them.
  • Page 20 Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Keep new and used batteries away from young children or persons of mental incapacity. If swallowed, seek immediate medical advice. The remote control is not approved to be operated in explo- sive enviroments. Do not use it in mines or other environ- ments with explosive hazards.
  • Page 21 As an additional precaution, we advise pacemaker recipients not to carry and use the remote control in a breast pocket or around the neck. Attention! The remote control is not a toy and should under no circumstances be passed on to infants or small children (under 36 month).
  • Page 22 International warranty Bernafon remote controls are covered by a limited warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship, for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. This warranty covers the remote control itself, but not accessories such as batte- ries, etc.
