- Page 3 WARNING! Operation through USB hubs is not guaranteed. Check the connection to the port directly located on the computer. WARNING! The joystick may not be compatible with some models of laptops or other portable devices. Joystick quick test • To run system test in Windows XP system, enter Start menu, then “Control panel”, “Gaming devices”. Select Defender Cobra M5 USB joystick, right click and select “Gaming Device Properties” menu, then select Defender Cobra M5 USB and press “Properties” button. • By means of system tests you may: Check the operation of all the joystick buttons (23 buttons). While pressing the button on the test page the button with corresponding number must light up. WARNING! To check the operation of all 23 available virtual buttons switch the combat modes by the relevant tumbler. The buttons 24‐26 are reserved in the Windows system for the tumbler modes. However they are not activated while switching the tumbler. Check the operation of the joystick stick. Move the stick forward, back, to the right, to the left. The relevant block on the “Test” tab (axes X/Y) will show the cursor movement in the corresponding directions. Turn the stick to the right or to the left horizontally. The red strip in the “Yaw” block will decrease or increase. WARNING! The yaw sensitivity may be adjusted by the corresponding stick. Check the operation of the view switch. The corresponding block on the “Test” tab must show the switch operation in 8 directions.
