- Page 2 During the first operation: As the heating elements are covered with a light film of oil at the factory for reasons of protection, you will notice a slight smell of burning and possibly also some smoke during the first operation. This is quite normal at first and is caused by the fact that the oil film is now burnt by the heating elements during operation.
