4.1 Installation environment This is a stationary device to be installed indoors. Below we have detailed the areas where it is recommended to install the AMPERE Tower PRO in the home: ▪ Avoid direct sunlight: high temperatures reduce the performance and life of the battery, so it is recommended to install the system somewhere away from direct sunlight.

Installation of this product requires a solid wall that is capable of preventing the purchased system from overturning. It is extremely important that these connections are made properly. You must take into account the polarity of the photovoltaic plant’s connections and connect them accordingly to the AMPERE Tower PRO. Prior to connection, the photovoltaic installation must be properly connected, with the positive and negative cables routed to the unit.

1. Remove the caps from the AMPERE Tower PRO’s solar connectors. 2. Remove the bushing at the bottom of the system. 3. Connect the photovoltaic installation’s solar connectors to the AMPERE Tower PRO with the correct polarity. The battery is placed horizontally on the brackets, with the handles on its left. The Master battery module is placed on the upper bracket and the Slave battery module, in the case of the Tower PRO, is placed on the lower bracket.

AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO _S_M_v001_EN When the batteries have been properly installed and fastened, either Tower PRO S or Tower PRO M with two battery modules, connect them. The connection is made between the electronics module and the battery and between both batteries (Master and Slave).
AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO_S_M_v001_EN 5.8.2 Wiring of the battery modules. The electronics module is composed of a bidirectional hybrid inverter and an EMS. This module is already installed on the wall mounting, with the cables that connect to the batteries coming out of it.

AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO _S_M_v001_EN The communications cable between both batteries is NOT pre-installed in the system. It is an RJ50-RJ50 that is transported with the auxiliary elements and its reference is SCO (see 3.2).
The energy meter is installed on the main switchboard, so it measures all energy consumed and generated in the installation, as indicated in the above diagrams. In the AMPERE Tower PRO system, the connection is made at the bottom of the device using an RJ45 bushing connector.

The energy meter model varies depending on the wiring cross-section in the head-end, whether there is a photovoltaic installation with an inverter that is not part of the Ampere product and whether the property has a single-phase or three-phase installation.
AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO_S_M_v001_EN 5.10 Connecting to the Internet Connecting the system to the Internet is essential for the proper operation and monitoring of the device. This connection is necessary to: • Optimise the system’s performance: access to weather forecasts and variable energy prices.
AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO _S_M_v001_EN 6. STARTING UP THE SYSTEM 6.1 System inspection You should pay special attention to the following points: • All of the wall mounting’s stud screws are fully tightened. • The battery module is properly secured.

AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO_S_M_v001_EN To check that the system is working correctly, you must pay attention to a set of LEDs on the batteries. Working correctly: Master - the LED with the highest charge percentage is flashing and the first green is steady.
AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO _S_M_v001_EN 6.3 Start-up Once it has been verified that all communications are correct, close the cover so that the system can be started up safely. Hang the cover with the two safety screws.
AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO_S_M_v001_EN The installation is conducted in the following manner: 1. Fit the outer cover (casing) and check that the spring fasteners on each corner click shut. 2. Put 2 M4x20 countersunk screws with a size 3 Allen key in the upper and lower central part.
7. SHUTTING DOWN THE SYSTEM It is advisable to keep the AMPERE Tower PRO connected to the mains and the PV installation in order to maintain the battery charge in an optimal state, even when the system’s user is not present.

AMPERE TOWER PRO S / TOWER PRO M IM_TW_PRO_S_M_v001_EN 5. Disconnect the battery circuit breaker by lowering the switch. The switch has 3 positions: ON, OFF and TRIP. The thermal magnetic circuit breaker may trip as a safety measure (intermediate TRIP position).
Router and to the female connector of the AMPERE Tower PRO. The USB flash drive provided by AMPERE (or another similar in type) will have to be used to configure the system. You should turn on the computer and plug the USB flash drive provided by AMPERE into one of the USB ports.
AMPERE device’s USB port. Wait for a few seconds and the AMPERE Tower PRO will automatically read the configuration file. The LED light will turn off, indicating that the system is being restarted with the new configuration. You can now remove the USB flash drive inserted into the AMPERE device.
4. Shake the filter and gently run your hand over it to remove any impurities. 5. Reinstall the filter by following the instructions in section 6.5. The outlet filter has a useful life of 7/8 years. Contact AMPERE Energy’s technical service if you need to replace the component while the system is under warranty.
