Each 44 occurs from a free pour of molten aluminum into a large canister fi lled
with rock-like modules of resin impregnated sand. The result of this process is a
piece that has both delicate and substantially solid features. When viewed from
afar 44 appears as a heavy sculptural object, but a closer inspection reveals its
fi ne, intricate nature.
