CLEANING THE FILTERS

Menalux branded filters are strongly recommended by Progress. Those high quality filters will ensure a long lifetime of your Progress vacuum cleaner.
For more information about Menalux products, please visit our website : www.menalux.com.
If suction appears to be reduced when cleaning, please check filters as this is an indication that they require cleaning.
The dustbin filter must be cleaned when causing reduced suction.
Filters should be replaced at least twice a year.
Always operate the cleaner with filters installed to avoid reduced suction.
Disconnect from electrical outlet before changing the filters.
Cleaning the dustbin filter
Ø
Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 19).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.22).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 23).
Ø
Insert the dustbin filter back into the dustbin (fig. 20).
Ø
Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 19).

Cleaning the motor filter
Ø
Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 24).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.26).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 23).
Ø
Put the filter back into its place (fig. 25).
Ø
Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 24).
Cleaning the exhaust filter
Ø
Open the exhaust filter cover (fig. 27).
Ø
Remove the filter from its place (fig. 28).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.26).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 23).
Ø
Put the filter back into its place (fig. 28).
Ø
Close the filter cover (fig. 27).

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Ø
Attempt to recycle packaging material and old appliances.
Ø
The cardboard packaging can be placed in the waste paper collection.
Ø
Deposit the polystyrene foam at the PS collection point for recycling.
Recycling the Appliance at the end of its life
Ø
The plastic components all carry a material identification marking so that, like the other materials, they can recycled at the end of the life of the appli-
ance.
Ø
Please inquire with your local authority.
Blocked air flow and dirty filters
Ø
The cleaner stops automatically if a blockage occurs in the nozzle/tube/hose or if the filters are blocked with dirt.
Ø
Disconnect from mains and allow the cleaner to cool for 20-30 minutes. Remove blockage and/or clean filters.
Ø
Restart the cleaner.
