CABLE SELECTION AND NETWORK TOPOLOGY For use in CAN-open networks, the shielded twisted pair cable has become established. This is a cable with twisted pairs of conductors and a common outer shield. This cable is relatively insensitive to EMC interference and extensions of up to 1000m at 50 kbits/s can be achieved.
