Operating Instructions - Cyclone DX
Setting up your Cyclone Dx
The Cyclone Dx model is designed to be placed on the base trolley supplied and
must be kept level to prevent over spill from the water tank. Place the Cyclone Dx
squarely onto the base trolley. Please note that the trolley is not attached to the unit.
To cool a room efficiently the Cyclone Dx requires a continuous supply of fresh
air and therefore should be positioned close to an open window or door to the
outside. It is also important to have another window or a door open for the warm
air to exit. Once positioned in the room, lock the casters to prevent the unit from
moving. Decide upon which method is best suited for filling the water tank.
There are two options, either direct filling by connections to a main water supply
or by manual filling via the manual water fill inlet.
Direct Filling
Attach a suitable hose to the auto fill water inlet connector using a worm drive clip.
Double check for sign of water leakage from the connection before connecting the unit
to the power supply. If in doubt, consult a qualified plumber.
There is a float valve inside the water tank, which controls the water flow as necessary.
Manual Filling
CAUTION. Always switch OFF the unit and unplug from the power supply before
manually filling this machine. Mop up all the spillages before switching ON again.
Never handle plugs and electrical switches with wet hands.
To fill the water tank, open the manual water fill inlet and our up to 45 liters of
fresh clean water into the the tank.
The level of water in the tank is displayed on the water level indicator. During
use, the water level should be checked on a regular basis and topped up as
necessary. Never overfill this machine. The Cyclone Dx is now ready to use.
Controls
With the unit in position and the water tank wether filled manually or connected
to a main water supply, plug the unit into a suitable power supply and switch the
supply ON.
The unit can be operated as a cooler or simply as a fan.
To operate as a fan, set the function control and the fans speed control to OFF.
Turn the ON/OFF control to ON, then turn the fans speed control to the required
fan speed setting. There are three fan speeds available Low, Medium or High.
When first switching ON, select Low and wait for the fan to reach normal
running speed. There are two main controls for the direction of air flow. The
two horizontal louver controls are manual controls, which directs the air flow
vertically. The upper level operates the upper half of the air outlet and the lower
lever operates the lower half of the air outlet.
The function selection switch controls the powered deflector, which oscillates
horizontally (side to side) When switched to 'swing' the deflectors move from left
to right in a sweeping motion distributing the air to a wider area.
If the air flow is required in one direction only, switch the air deflector ON and
when the air flow is the right direction, switch the deflector control to OFF.
To run the unit in cool mode, move the function selection switch to 'cool swing'.
If the deflector is not required move the switch to 'cool' only.
When switching the unit OFF, move the function selection switch to OFF and allow
the fan to run for approximately 10 minutes. This enables the cooling pads to dry
and will help eliminate the possibility of a musty odor from the unit when next used.
