    IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the following: 1. Read all instructions carefully before use. 2. Do not immerse cord, plug, or unit in water or any other liquid.

    Before Your First Use Carefully unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials. You may wipe the unit with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the coffee maker in water or any other liquid. To remove any dust that may have accumulated on the removable parts during packaging, wash the carafe, filter, and filter basket with warm, soapy water.

    Using Your Coffee Maker 1. Place your drip coffee maker on a flat, dry, level surface, such as a countertop. Plug the unit into a 120 volt 60Hz AC-only outlet. 2. Remove the carafe from the warming plate. 3. Setting the clock: When plugged in, the digital display will flash “12:00”.

    WARNING: Return the carafe within 30 seconds to the warming plate if removed during brewing to prevent overflow and possible injury. If the brew basket overflows or fails to empty into the carafe, do not open the brew basket. Turn off the coffee maker. Unplug the coffee maker and wait for the contents to cool before handling.

    Care and Cleaning CAUTION: Be sure to unplug this appliance before cleaning. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or other liquid. Carefully remove the lid from carafe by grasping carafe by its handle and with your other hand, lift lid and gently pull to the side.
