I recently changed my batteries (3 weeks ago) and now the pad is not working. I have been turning the knob and key clockwise per instructions for 3 days and still haven't had any luck opening the door. Any other advice?

If the Aegis PFS-10 pad is not working after changing the batteries, take the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Ensure the 4 AA batteries are inserted correctly, following the positive (+) and negative (-) guides in the compartment. 2. Make sure the battery box is properly placed back into the compartment. 3. Confirm the battery cover is snapped back into place securely. 4. Check if the green indicator light flashes when pressing a button. If not, verify battery installation again. 5. If the pad still does not respond, use the back-up key to open the safe and inspect for any loose connections or damage inside the battery compartment.

To unlock an Aegis safe model PFS-10 with low batteries, follow these steps:
1. Remove the back-up key cover. 2. Insert the back-up key into the keyhole. 3. Turn the back-up key clockwise. 4. At the same time, turn the knob (master key) clockwise to open the door.
Do not store your back-up keys inside the safe.

I purchased the AEGIS 2.6 Cubic Feet safe and needed to use the backup key. Now that my safe is open, I cannot remove the key despite trying several times and even using a lubricant made for locks.
What would you recommend? Thank you in advance.
