Common reasons for sensor failure on a Carrera Crosscity-E bike include:

1. Bad or loose connections in the wiring, especially where cables pass into the rear wheel spindle and hub.
2. Chafed or damaged cables that may cause intermittent signal loss.
3. A faulty controller, which may overheat or fail to send proper signals to the motor.
4. Moisture or water exposure despite the bike being designed as waterproof.
5. Use of non-genuine parts or improper handling, such as connecting components with wet hands or using metal objects near terminals.

If the gears are not changing on a Carrera Crosscity-E bicycle and the chain is on the bottom, a possible cause could be improper use of gears or mechanical issues such as misalignment, cable tension problems, or derailleur malfunction. The context emphasizes the need to use gears properly, especially when approaching hills, and warns against riding in high gear at low cadence. This suggests that incorrect gear use or excessive strain on the drivetrain could contribute to gear shifting issues.

I need a replacement key F359. Although the 5 lights are red the assisted power is not working. I may need a new battery even though the bike hasn't been used that much
