4-2-3. Frequency characteristics adjustment

Test equipment : Level meter
Test tape 315 Hz (P-4-L300)
6.3 kHz (P-4-A063)
10 kHz (P-4-A100-2)
Note : Before this adjustment, playback level adjustment must has been
finished.
[315 Hz]
1. Insert the test tape (P-4-L300) on the original side,
then press the COPY button and measure the playback
output level.
[6.3 kHz]
2. Insert the test tape (P-4-A063) on the original side,
then press the COPY button and measure the playback
output level.
[10 kHz]
3. Insert the test tape (P-4-A100-2) on the original side,
then press the COPY button and measure the playback
output level.
4. If the playback output level is out of specification,
replace the following parts, and repeat this adjustment.

4-2-4. Bias frequency adjustment

Test equipment :
Frequency counter
Coil (10 mH)
Adjustment point : T1/AU-2 board
Procedure :
1. Connect the coil to the frequency counter.
2. Set the SIDE selector to "A+B".
3. Activate the service mode. (Don't insert a cassette tape.)
4. Press the COPY button, and after 30 seconds, approach
the coil to erase head.
5. Adjust the following bias transformer (T1 on the AU-2
board) so that the bias frequency is in specification.
Specification : 550 kHz ± 3 %
