2. Safety Your E-Traveller Pursuit is a battery-operated personal mobility scooter. Please exercise caution and consideration when you are operating it. Driving your Pursuit carefully and thoughtfully will help ensure your personal safety and the safety of other people. Before learning to operate your Pursuit, have your authorized Motobility Wholesale dealer determine if it is advisable for you to practice getting on and off your Scooter and operating it in the presence of an attendant.
Do not drive your Scooter in reverse down an incline. • Try to keep your Pursuit moving when climbing an incline. If you do come to a stop, restart and accelerate slowly and carefully. Do not try to descend or climb a slope whose gradient is greater than recommended.
5. When you have reached a level surface at the bottom of the slope, position the freewheel lever in the engaged position. See section 5. Operation 6. Carefully remount your Pursuit, and set the key switch to the on position to restore power.

This lever operates both the speed and the direction of the Pursuit. This self-centering lever system controls your Pursuit speed (up to the maximum speed set by the speed adjustment dial) and its forward and reverses direction. See figure 5.

5.4 Freewheel Mode Your Pursuit is equipped with a freewheel lever that can set your Scooter in or out of freewheel mode. Figure 9: Freewheel Switch (Drive Position) To disengage the parking brake and put your Scooter in freewheel mode: Press the (1) symbol on the freewheel switch.
Pull-on, the throttle control lever, to gently accelerate your Pursuit. Release the throttle control lever to allow your Pursuit to come gently to a full stop. Practice these two basic functions until you feel that you have control of your Scooter.
Learn and follow those tips, and with surprising ease, you will soon be in control of your Pursuit as you maneuver it through doors, up and down ramps, up and over curbs, through grass and gravel, and up and down inclines.
7. Disassembly Your Pursuit scooter is designed to be disassembled/folded easily in order to be transported. When disassembling your Scooter, please be sure to follow these simple instructions. Remove the Seat Place your Scooter on a level surface. Remove the key from the key switch before you begin to disassemble/fold your Pursuit.

Fold-Down and Lock the Seat Frame Pull both spring-loaded seat pins outward simultaneously, and while holding them out; push the seat frame forward and down. See figure 14. WARNING! This area is a pinch-point and requires your full attention. Be careful not to pinch your fingers between the frames.
WARNING! Pinch Point: A pinch point is an area where you MUST consider your fingers to be sure they DO NOT become pinched between two metal or hard plastic areas. The greatest chance of pinch points becomes possible during the assembly of the Pursuit scooter.

Cautions & Warnings • Do not lift your Pursuit by its plastic body parts, seat, or tiller. Breakage of these parts is not covered by the warranty. • Do not use the tires or wheels to lift your Pursuit. The tires may rotate and cause injury or damage.
The main body and the control panel of your Scooter are formed ABS plastic for style and durability. Each Pursuit comes standard with removable colour panels in (Red, Blue, Green, White. and Orange. Colour panels can be changed easily by removing two screws for each panel.
To Charge the Battery Pack: Figure 24. Battery Pack The charger for your Pursuit is an off-board charger. To charge the battery pack, plug the charger into the charger port on the bottom side of the battery pack or control panel. See figures 24 and 25. When the battery pack is fully charged, disconnect the charger power cord from the wall outlet and from the charging socket.
Scooter. As you operate your Pursuit, battery voltages go down, and battery current must rise to satisfy the demands of the motor and of other electrical devices operating on your Scooter. This can cause a heavy current draw that can overload the scooter power module.
