OPERATING THE SAW

The saw is supplied ready for work. The engine has been run up and the speed set
at the factory. Before starting the engine, as a precaution, check the oil level. Fill the
petrol tank with lead free petrol.
The CS350/450 Compact floor saw can be operated fitted with either dry or wet cut
diamond blades. Abrasive cutting discs can also be used. All blades must have a 1"
diameter arbor hole with drive pin.
1/ Raise the saw to a height to permit fitting of blade. Slacken blade shaft nut and
remove outer flange. Remember the shaft thread is left handed (ie) turn nut
clockwise to slacken. The flanges and shaft collar should be clean and free from
bruises. Check the drive pin is tight and in good condition. If any doubt replace.
Never operate the saw without a drive pin fitted.
Sawing without the drive pin may cause damage to the blade shaft, blade and
flanges.
2/ Check coolant feed pipes are clear and free from blockages. If blocked replace.
3/ The blade should be a snug fit on the shaft and force should be unnecessary. If
the blade is a tight fit the bore of the blade and the blade shaft should be checked for
damage. The outer flange and drive pin should locate the blade on the shaft. Firmly
tighten the blade shaft nut to clamp the blade between both flanges. Note a 24mm
flat is machined onto the blade shaft to facilitate fitting and removal of blades. The
blades must run true to give optimum performance.
4/ Check the blade guard is securely fastened in position and is free from cracks and
damage. If in doubt replace – never operate the saw without both guards in good
condition and correctly fitted. Failure to comply could result in serious personal
injury.
