Self-Regulating Heating Cables for Pipes CHOOSING A CABLE – Make sure to choose a cable longer than the pipe ensure coverage. NOTE: For each valve or spigot on pipe an additional foot of cable is needed. When the cable is longer than the pipe, spiral the excess cable around the pipe length evenly.
