STEP 5. Inst811 Switch Button.

If you are installIng your switch In the glo'ie bOx many models
have plugged holeS alreedy in them. If your vehicle is 90
equipped. remo'ie the plug. The hole may be either 3/4. or' II in
diameter
If the hole is' .diameter
you will need to use the
optional snap ri(\Q. Glove boxes without plugged holes will
require a 3/4" diameter hole be cut (Caution: Remove glove
box insert before drilling Hole). Once your hole is located. route
the connector plugs on tt1e black and red wires through and
connect them to t~e switch button. Push the switch button into
the hole.
8. Under dash Inata'lltlon.
If you are installing the switch button under the dash you will
need to use the switch bracket and snap ring. Remove a screw
under the dash or use tn9 enclosed self-tapping ICfew and
inatall the switch button bracket. Connect the wiring to the
switch button 8S d8scribed in abo"e paragraph.

, STEP 6. Connecting
the Swttch Button.
Taking the blank end of the red wire determine If you wish to
connect at the fuse box or splice into an exist\ng w\~
DecIde
lWhether you want your power source to be ignition activated or
lconstant and complete tM connection. Your switch will be
'operable uoon reconn~ing
the battery.

Figure At below shows the so\enoid instaltation k>oklng through

sheet metal. Once you have the inside panel

metal cover over the latch mechanism and tn. metal bracket
occupyt~ the tailgate lICCeta hole. Orientate the solenoid
inside the liftgate acc988 aligning me solenoid bracket holes
with the i holes in the liftgate. Using the two maChine screws
with w88hers attach the solenoid to in. liftgat. by inserting the
~ehers
through the sheet meial and into the solenoid
bracket ;until fIght. Next attach the solenoId cable to the latch
lever -shown
in fIgure B.

Close rear hatcn and push switch button. If window opens,
move to Step 8. if it does not open and your system is ignition
activated, insure the key is on. It solenoid ~1ick8 but window
does not open check assembly to latch for proper connection. It
solenoid does not click check your power source connection.
STEP 8. Flnleh
Remove or loosen neces8ary trim along the wiring route to the
solenoid. Tuck the wiring beneath the trim P8"8I8 and tighten.
Replace rear trim panel on liftgate. Vour in8'allatlon is
complete.
