Salt free descaler

Preconditioning the Descaler prior to installation:
1. It is very important to properly flush the Descaler prior to installation.
2. Connect a garden hose to the inlet port of the Descaler (marked "In")
and slowly begin to fill the vessel with water.
3. Water will begin to flow from the outlet port of the Descaler, use a bucket
or drain to catch the water.
4. The first few gallons will be cloudy and black. Continue this process for
15 minutes.
5. After 15 minutes begin to "Surge Flush" the Descaler by turning the water
supply off for 30 seconds then on for 30 seconds and continue this for
15 more minutes or until the initial water surge is free of cloudiness and
discoloration.
6. Disconnect the garden hose, the Descaler is now ready for installation.
Installation:
Reference Fig. 1 for visual guide
1. Remove all parts from packaging.
2. If you are not installing a Sediment Pre-filter, replace the red transport
cap on the distributor with the black cap provided and skip to step 7.
3. Remove plastic cover from the Sediment Pre-filter
4. Remove the red transport cap on the Distributor.
5. Hand tighten the top loading Pre-filter Housing
until you feel no further movement.
6. Unscrew the Pre-filter housing cap and drop in the sediment Pre-filter.
Hand tighten the top cap until you feel no further movement.
7. Insert 3/4" Straight Connector

Distributor. Insert the
Connector Lock into two slots located on the
inlet port to lock the connection.
8. Insert 3/4" 90s Connector
distributor. Insert the Connector Lock
inlet port to lock the connection.
9. Cut into main plumbing line leaving enough space to connect the 3-Way

Compression Valves

10. Install the "blue" lever Compression Valve
water line. Using PEX piping, connect one side of pipe to the "blue" lever

and the other side to the Descaler inlet port
tighten with crimp rings.
11. Connect PEX piping to the outlet port

12. Using PEX piping and
Brass 90s Connector run plumbing to second
"red" lever Compression Valve
13. Turn main water supply back on slowly and carefully check for leaks.

Notes:
• Pipe joint tape (Teflon tape) must be used on all threaded connections.
• Pick an appropriate installation location.
• Do not install the unit on its side. It needs to be installed upright to
maximize contact with media.
• Do not install this Descaler where the line pressure may exceed 100 psi.
• Operating pressure range: 20psi – 100psi.
• Install on cold water lines only (40° – 90°F).
• Protect unit from freezing.
• Installation of the Descaler must comply with existing state and local
plumbing codes.
Full warranty contingent on installation by a licensed plumber.
Do not use with water that is micro-biologically unsafe or of
unknown water quality without adequate disinfection before or
after the system.
