Glenayre Document Number: 9110.01002 GL-T8541 PA 09/10/99 INSTALLATION INSTALLATION 4.1 Installation Installation of the transmitter and related equipment should be done by properly qualified personnel, to ensure that the overall installation meets requirements of the local codes. This section provides information common to all installations. Transmitter setup is mostly done through the user interface software, which is covered in a separate manual.
  • Page 22: Inspection

The power amplifier requires a 28 volt dc supply to operate as specified. Total supply current varies depending on transmitter model, other racked equipment, and RF output. One GL-T8541 PA (with exciter) requires approximately 644 watts of dc power when operating at rated RF output. See section two for more information.

OPERATION 5.1 General The GL-T8541 PA normally operates via commands from a remote transmitter controller. Local operation is possible using a video display terminal connected through the DSP ex- citer; this is described in the separate VDT user manual. Refer to section one of this manual for information about the VDT manual.
