Dear customer,
thank you for purchasing a Digicom
product.
This Quick Installation guide provides the basic
instructions for installing and using the Wireless card
under Windows® Xp. The complete user guide is
available in the supplied CDROM and www.digicom.it
web site.
DESCRIPTION
Palladio Wave 54 allows you to connect two or more computers together wirelessly, or
to connect to your cabled LAN through an Access Point.
Palladio Wave 54 offers many advanced features for achieving the maximum
performances and security still providing a simplified installation and configuration
interface:
Plug and Play
Autosensing, automatic speed setting
Roaming between Access Points
WEP up to 128bit
ASCII, HEX, and Passphrase WEP key generation
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Before inserting the Card, please install the software supplied with the product;
Insert the CDROM in the drive and run the setup.exe installation program from the
drivers folder.
Follow the given instruction and confirm Windows®'s info screens.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Insert the card in a CardBus slot on your PC; Windows® will detect a new devive. Follow
the given instructions by selecting "Install the software automatically".
Installation notes:
Windows® 98SE and Windows® Me may require the operating system installation
CDROM.
Windows® Xp and Windows® 2000 may show the following information dialog:
Just click "Continue Anyway".
LED DESCRIPTION
The Led shows the follwing status:
-
Off:
Card is not active.
-
Flashing:
Card is active butnot linked to a wireless network.
-
On:
Card linked to a wireless network.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK THROUGH AN ACCESS POINT
From Start > Contro Panel > Network connections.
Right-click on the "Wireless network connection" icon and select Properties.
Disable the Use Windows® to configure ... checkbox in order to use the provided
utility for the card set up.
From. Start > Programs > select the "Wlan 11g network" utility and run it.
Select the Site_Survey Windows® and perform a network Scan.
Select the Access Point you want to connect to and click on Connect.
Click on Apply in the new window.
If needed, set the WEP in the Encryption tab (recommended for security reasons).
Then, from the network card's properties set the desired IP address for this wireless
network connection.
CONNECT TO A WIRELESS NETWORK WITHOUT AN ACCESS POINT
(PEER TO PEER)
In order to set up a wireless Peer-to-Peer network (Ad-Hoc mode) please be sure to
set the same SSID, Channel and (if used) same WEP Key in each client configuration.

The following installation rules should be respected in order to have the best working order of the equipment
and for the user's safety.
Enviromental condition
Enviromental temperature from -5 to + 45°C
Rapid changes of temperature or humidity should be avoided (0,03°C/min).
Dust, humidity, heat from direct sun light.
Objects which irradiate heat. These could cause damage to the container or other problems.
Objects which produce a strong electtromagnetic field (loudspeakers, etc.)
Liquids or chemical corrosive substances.
General Warnings
POWER SUPPLY: only those indicated on the equipment label
ISOLATION CLASSIFICATIONS: only those indicated on the equipment label
NOMINAL CURRENTS: only those indicated on the equipment label
To avoid electric shock, the equipment should never be opened. Ask qualified personnel help. Disconnect the
power cable from the wall outlet when the equipment is not to be used for a long period. To disconnect the
cable pull it by the plug, never pull it by the cable itself. If there should be liquid or object penetration in the
equipment, disconnect the power cable and call a qualified personl for testing.
Cleaning the terminal
Use a clean and soft cloth. Wet the cloth with water or natural detergent if it is necessary to remove any stains.
Never use chemical products such as petrol or solvents.
Vibration or dropping
Caution against vibrations and dropping.
