SAFETY The Slip is certified following the EN 1651 load test, for a maximum pilot weight of 100kg. As a light harness, any acrobatic or high G-load maneuvers are not recommended. It is not suitable for neither for SIV nor for towing. Please read this manual carefully and thoroughly. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE By the purchase of this equipment, you are responsible for being a certified paraglider pilot and you accept all risks inherent with paragliding activities including injury and death. Improper use or misuse of paragliding equipment greatly increases these risks. Neither Airdesign nor the seller of Airdesign equipment shall be held liable for personal or third party injuries or damages under any circumstances. If any aspect of the use of our equipment remains unclear, please contact your local paragliding instructor, Airdesign dealer or the Airdesign importer in your country. YOUR HARNESS 1. Back pocket Your harness may be delivered with two Edelrid Superlight carabiners. AIRDESIGN – Le Slip Manual – V1.3 – August 7th 2020 Page 2/5... - Page 3 USING YOUR HARNESS To put your slip on, two options are available : If the harness is opened, put the shoulder straps and lift up the legs and waist strap between your legs. Close all Red or Green loops together using the carabiner. Insure the colors are not mixed together. Ensure 3 loops are closing on each carabiner. If the harness is already closed, stepping through the legs and waist straps might be more convenient. One at a time, step through the legs and waist straps before pulling the shoulder straps into place. Make sure your legs go through the leg straps correctly and not through the side of the harness. It is not recommended to use the step through method if you are using crampons or ski boots as you risk to severely damage the harness. Instead use method 1 or remove the crampons before putting the harness on. Warning! Ensure that the carabiner is going through the three Red and Green loops on both sides before taking off. Warning! Ensure that carabiners are locked and not twisted before take off. Your telescopic or foldable hiking poles can be stored on the side using the loops and tankas during the flight. The back pocket can be used to store your light carrying equipment during flight or ground handling, or safety equipment permanently left there. You seating position can be adjusted using the loop and ball on both side of the harness (Pos 7 previous page). Warning! Insure setting is symmetrical before take-off. The legs can move freely by detaching the loop and ball between the legs (Pos 6 previous page) Warning! This impacts harness stabiliity. Warning! - Page 4 You can use a speedbar by passing the speedbar line through the low friction rings and connect it to the wing. Warning! Ensure the line length is long enough not to pull the wing speed system in rest position before take-off. Warning! Make sure that the line passes to the outside of all straps and adjustments. The shoulders strap length can be adjusted to your size changing the knot position on the side. Your harness can be stored putting it inside its back pocket. Warning! Although the nitinol rods are very robust, care can be taken to avoid permanent damages due to small folds. A front container can be used by attaching the reserve risers to the carabiners (Optional Equipment). Warning! Ensure that the load on the carabiner is not sideways. Warning! Loop and ball for leg split shall be closed when using AD Front Rescue Container. For activation, or rescue compatibility information (pocket volume), please check the manual of your reserve container. A suitable harness protector may be installed by using the side dyneema loops (Optional Equipment). Check for protector’s manual. Ask a professional or AirDesign for compatibility before any connection with a non AirDesign branded product. COMPOSITION, CARE AND MAINTENANCE The durability of this Superlight harness depends on your good care. Using the harness for ground handling, touch and go, speed flying and speed riding will lower its life span. The harness is composed of Ripstop Nylon fabric, Dyneema structural lines, Nitinol rods, sheathed Aramid shoulder straps. Take care of the following: Avoid excessive exposure to UV, heat and humidity. • Pack the harness dry and store in a cool dry place. • Do not pack it too tight to avoid permanent damages to the Nitinol rods. • Never drag or skim your harness along the ground. • Keep you harness clean of dirt, oils and any corrosive substance. • This harness can be washed with a soft brush and clear water.
