  • Page 7 INSTRUCTIONS Pad parameter settings Pad curve The curve is relative to the dynamic signal from the pad (default setting: CURVE2). CURVE 1: very low dynamic response, high volume. If used to trigger the pads, the curve is flat. CURVE2: the standard setting; during playing or when volume changes, it generates the maximum natural signal.
  • Page 8 Recording Press [RECORD]; the recording LED illuminates, and the metronome turns on automatically. Strike a pad to begin recording or record the drum section of the song. Press [RECORD] again to stop recording. The recording LED dims, and the performance or drum section has been recorded.
  • Page 9 Selecting a drum kit If the drum kit menu does not appear, press [KIT] to enter drum kit menu. The [KIT]LED flashes once; use the direction keys to select a drum kit. The LCD will display the current drum kit number. Press [SET UP] to enter the drum kit parameter setting interface.
  • Page 10 Change pad voice Select the pad with the relative pad button or strike the pad directly. Use the direction keys to select the voice. Note: See the voice list further in this guide for reference. Change pad volume Use the direction key to select VOLUME.

  • Page 13 Adjusting pad threshold Threshold represents the minimum force to generate a pad signal. A higher threshold requires a stronger force to generate the pad signal. A low threshold requires a weaker force to generate pad signal. Setting the threshold is relevant to the playing style and external conditions of the user.     Record your performance with external sequencer: Connect with external sequencer or PC via MIDI OUT or USB interface. Use the sequencer or the software to set channel 10 as a device to start recording. Play the drum pads. Stop performance and recording. Playback the recording.   • Page 20 CONNECTIVITY Connect to an audio system or amplifier When connecting with audio system or drum amplifier, use a 1/4” cable (not included) to connect the L/mono and R outputs to the audio system or drum amplifier. Note: Connect with the L/mono connector when connecting with a mono audio device. Connect with both the L/mono and R connector when connecting with stereo audio device.
  • Page 21 Connecting to an MP3 or CD player Connect the output of an MP3, CD player or other audio sources with the AUX IN connector. The input signal can be mixed with the drum signal. Connecting to a computer Connect to the computer via USB to receive and send MIDI signals. Connect to the computer via MIDI port MIDI IN: receive MIDI signal of the computer or other devices.
  • Page 22 Connect with a MIDI keyboard MIDI connector: If using an external MIDI keyboard or pads to control the digital drum module, make the connections as shown. Here, the instrument is used as a sound module. Power supply and switch Make sure the power is switched off. Connect the power adaptor to the DC IN jack on the side panel.

    OPERATION Selecting a drum kit After powering up, the digital drum will enter the KIT menu (kit indicator on). The display should appear as shown in the figure below: There are 3 ways to activate the drum kit menu: Use the direction key to select a drum kit.
  • Page 24 Hit the pads to play the current kit. Playing the pads Similar to an acoustic drum kit, the digital drums respond differently to various playing techniques and dynamics. All the pads sense the striking force, and some voices change tone depending on the striking force. Drum pad and rim shot The digital drum pad detects head and rim shots (rim shots are separate from the pad hits).
