Operating Instructions—C-30B Camera PHOTOGRAPHIC CONSIDERATIONS WR1TING RATE Absolute writing speed of an oscilloscope and camera system is d iffic u lt to calculate because so many variables are involved. Among the variables are speed of the camera lens, type of crt phosphor, type of film , crt accelerating Writing Rate is a figure o f merit which roughly describes potential, camera lens, and development time of the film .
Many different types of Polaroid film are available in packs, rolls, and 4- by 5-inch single-sheet packets. Refer to Table 2-2 for the films most commonly used with the C-30B Camera. Table 2-1 Commonly-used Phosphors Relative Bright...

Operating Instructions—C-30B Camera CONTINUOUS TONE (GRAY SCALE) DISPLAY. PREFOGGING. A method which sometimes produces very good results w ith Polaroid Land films is prefogging. In Photographing a continuous tone (gray scale) display requires a technique different from that used for trace prefogging, the film is first exposed to a predetermined recording.
Operating Instructions—C-30B Camera Success in obtaining good photographs o f single-sweep PICTURE TAKING displays w ill come with experience. A few tips, however, may reduce the need fo r experimenting. Photographing Repetitive Signals 1. Use steps 1 through under Photographing The following procedure can be used as a guide to obtain Repetititve Signals, to set up the camera.

Operating Instructions— C-30B Camera Figure 2-13. Depth of field for different aperture settings. EFFECTS OF CAMERA MAGNIFICATION It is important to note that a better writing rate can be obtained with a small object-to-image ratio than with a ON EXPOSURE large object-to-image ratio.
MAINTENANCE GENERAL CARE OF THE CAMERA SYSTEM CAMERA BACK ROLLERS The C-30B Camera is designed to provide long, trouble- free service if given the same care as other precision optical devices. Care should be taken in handling the various mechanisms to assure that they are not damaged, Both the Pack-Film and Roll-Film backs contain two stainless Steel rollers used in Processing exposed film .
Maintenance—C-30B Camera MAGNIFICATION ADJUSTMENTS 5. If the ratio is not 1:1, loosen the magnification sleeve To verify that the camera magnification setting is lock collar set screw by using a 0.050-inch hexagonal correct, perform Steps 1 through 4 of the following pro- wrench.
