  • Page 2 An AC Power Fail Alarm is generated when AC power is lost and the battery back-up is initiated. A relay with a normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) terminal is available to activate an alarm on a B1290 and can be wired as shown in the B1294 Wiring Diagram.
  • Page 3 Maintenance: The battery will self-discharge while not in use, so if spare units are kept in stock, charge them every six months for the length of time required for the CHARGING indicator to turn off. Since the low voltage drop-out circuit prevents the battery from discharging too deeply and the battery is permitted to only charge between -20°C to +40°C, the battery will recover its nominal voltage reliably over many charge/discharge cycles.
