The device is equipped with a wireless data transmission module. This technology uses radios to transmit data to a Welch Allyn receiving application. Due to the nature of radio transmissions, it is possible that, due to the characteristics of the environment where the device is located, some other RF sources may interfere with the transmission generated by the device.
ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY (EMC) NOTE: This section applies to the WAM PC and the UTK devices when connected to a computer. This section does not apply to the computer alone. Electromagnetic compatibility with surrounding devices should be assessed when using the device.

If electrode is not properly connected to the patient, or one or more of the patient cable lead wires is damaged, the WAM PC will indicate a lead fault. If this occurs during waveform acquisition, the WAM PC may not be able to collect enough good quality waveforms within 60 seconds and the acquisition will have to be repeated after fixing the lead fault condition.
EQUIPMENT SYMBOLS AND MARKINGS CAUTION The caution statements in this manual identify conditions or practices that could result in damage to the equipment or other property, or loss of data.. WARNING The warning statements in this manual identify conditions or practices that could lead to illness, injury, or death.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Precautions • Turn off the device before inspecting or cleaning. • Do not immerse the device in water. • Do not use organic solvents, ammonia-based solutions, or abrasive cleaning agents which may damage equipment surfaces. Inspection 1. Inspect your equipment daily prior to operation. If you notice anything that requires repair, contact an authorized service person to make the repairs.
ECGs from patients. WAM PC Description The WAM PC is a resting ECG acquisition module with memory. It does not need to be connected to a full-featured electrocardiograph while it records ECG waveforms from a patient. It is simply attached to a patient and used to acquire 60 seconds of raw ECG waveforms into its memory.
6.7 oz. (190 g) with battery 4.45 x 4.25 x 1.1” (11.3 x 10.8 x 2.79 cm) Dimensions 1 AA alkaline battery typically powers WAM PC for acquisition of Battery Life 250 resting ECGs *Specifications subject to change without notice.
This will cause the unit to lose power and turn off if it wasn’t already off. Tilt the WAM PC slightly so the battery slides out. Dispose of the old battery according to local policies and ordinances. Slide a fresh AA battery into the WAM PC according to the diagram on the back of the module (negative terminal goes in first).
RECOMMENDED ELECTRODES Low-impedance connections to the patient’s skin will minimize noise in the ECG waveforms. High quality silver-silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes similar to those provided by Welch Allyn are highly recommended. TIP: Electrodes should be stored in air-tight containers to minimize exposure to air. When left exposed to the air, electrodes will dry out quickly, lose their adhesion, and produce noisy waveforms.

USING THE WAM PC WAM PC Status Indicators The WAM PC gives its current status through a combination of LED and audible signals: Audible Signal WAM PC Status Powered off. Flashing Orange It is ready to acquire new waveforms, but the software application must load patient demographics first.
1. Ensure the WAM PC has a battery. Have a fresh battery available in case the current one starts to give the Battery Low signal (3 short beeps every 15 seconds). See Replacing the Battery. 2. If unsure that the WAM PC is ready to acquire new ECG waveforms, power it on and observe the LED: a.

Tell the patient to remain still and relaxed until it is finished. c. If the WAM PC should start giving 2 audible ticks per second, it means one or more of the electrodes has stopped making good contact with the patient’s skin. Check the electrodes and lead wires and fix as necessary.
