- Page 6 OPERATION One handed / Standing play: Hold the melodica with your left hand, either with the plastic carry strap on the back of the instrument, or just holding by supporting the bottom as shown below. Use your right hand to play the keys. In this method, fit the melodica with the mouthpiece, not the blow pipe.
