LUBRICATION GUIDE FOR THE ROWE CBA-4 BILL ACCEPTOR
Over time the Rowe CBA-4 bill acceptor may seem to become very picky and reject
most or all forms of currency. If this happens try lubricating the bill acceptor by
following the steps and illustrations provided.
1. Unplug machine or remove fuse to prevent accidental shock.
2. Remove 2 connectors from harnesses interfacing bill acceptor with main control
board of vending machine.
3. Remove Bill acceptor from machine. It will either be mounted with 4 phillips head
screws or 4 – 11/32" nuts.
4. Remove black plastic nose piece on bill acceptor by taking out phillips head
screw attaching nose piece to bill acceptor.

- Page 2 5. Apply one small drop of light machine oil (such as 3:1 Electric Motor Oil or fishing reel oil) to the following locations indicated in the pictures below. DO NOT OVER LUBRICATE!
- Page 3 6. Reverse the process by first installing plastic nose piece on bill acceptor. Then, mount bill acceptor back into machine. Finally, reconnect the two connectors. 7. Turn machine on and run several bills through bill acceptor. You may find that the bill acceptor rejects fewer bills than it used to.
