SEW 3800
• Scrupulously follow all the sewing steps.
• The stitch selection knob (17) does not rotate when the
appliance is operating.
• Before adjusting the stitch selection knob (17), make sure you
have correctly raised the needle (10) by turning the handwheel
(6) counterclockwise.
• The appliance is not suitable for sewing stretch fabrics, towels,
etc.
Place the appliance on a horizontal, flat, clean, dry and stable surface.
> > Forward sewing
1. Turn the knob (17) and select the desired stitch from "1 to 3" (Fig. F32).
2. Raise the foot (13) by pressing the foot lifting lever (8) upwards, pull the coil thread
and the upper thread backwards for about 10 cm (Fig. F33).
3. Position the fabric under the foot (13) and press the foot lifting lever (8) downwards
(Fig. F34).
4. Move the selector (18) to "A" or "B" (Fig. F35).
5. Switch on the appliance by pressing the switch (7) on "I" or "II" (Fig. F36).
6. Gently press the pedal (26) with your foot to start sewing (Fig. F37).
7. After finishing sewing, turn the handwheel (6) counterclockwise to raise the needle
(10) to the highest position.
Raise the foot (13) by pressing the foot lifting lever (8) upwards, then remove the
fabric and cut the thread with the appropriate thread cutter (11).
> > Reverse sewing
The reverse sewing is ideal for "reinforcing" the beginning and end of the seam.
To change the direction of the sewing, stop the machine and then:
1. Move the selector (18) to "
the stitch (Fig. F38).
2. Once the reverse sewing is finished, move the selector (18) to "A" or "B" and the appli-
ance starts sewing forward.
The reverse sewing should not exceed 5 cm continuously.
