USER´S MANUAL 1. INTRODUCTION The Hanito 300 kg, Hanito 600 kg, Hanito 3mt, and Hanito 5.4 mt weighing units have been designed exclusively for electronic weighing of loads on crane devices. Any other use is considered inappropriate. Proper usage includes adhering to all instructions contained in the operating instructions as well as performing all necessary inspection or maintenance tasks.

We strongly recommend that you read the instructions carefully for precise information on the features and operating principles of this standalone weighing system.

HANITO USER´S MANUAL 10. The weighing system operator should not start any load motion until he makes sure that the load has been safely fastened and no one is in the risk area. 11. Before every load motion the weighing system operator must make sure that the rated load of the weakest elements of the entire load fastening system (load housing elements, fasteners, carrier elements) has not been exceeded.

HANITO USER´S MANUAL 3.2. ACCESSORIES In order to meet individual requirements of our customers, optional accessory parts are available. 3.2.1. Batteries If the device is used extensively, battery costs can be reduced by using six 1.2V Ni-Cd batteries. These batteries supply a current of 700 mA/h, hence allowing operation for 40 hours without a new recharge being necessary.

HANITO USER´S MANUAL 5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 5.1. OPERATION 5.1.1. Start - up In order to start the device, press the " I " (ON) button (Fig. 2). Figure 2 - OFF The dynamometer will then carry out the initial test (Fig. 3) in which all figures of the weight display are activated to check the display indicators.

Test completion After this test is finished, the first zero in the weight display (Fig. 4) appears after activating the zero figure; this indicating that the dynamometer is ready for weighing. CAUTION!: The dynamometer is provided with automatic zeroing which uses the load suspended from the hook when operation is started as a dead weight.
HANITO USER´S MANUAL 5.1.5. Negative weight If the negative sign appears when starting (Fig. 5), press the "→0←" (ZEROING) button to reset the dynamometer to zero weight (Fig. 4). The dynamometer will then be ready to display new weight data. Fig.

Constant zero Although both the hardware and software are supplied with powerful filters, negative weight corrections should be performed when the crane is at rest in order to initially achieve a constant zero, if possible. Please check with your dealer concerning the possibility of reinforcing those filters if you operate traveling cranes with a nominal width of many meters, as this type of equipment frequently experiences vibration problems.

ZEROING The zeroing function (5: " →0←" button) has also been designed to prevent the dead weight of load slings, fastening accessories, pull chains, platforms, pallets, etc. from being weighed at the same time. 5.2.1. Considering the dead weight If dead weight such as load slings, chains or accessories are incorporated into the weighing process, the weight to be included should be hang from the dynamometer.
HANITO USER´S MANUAL 5.2.3. TARE, NET WEIGHT AND GROSS WEIGHT Function The dynamometer is equipped to display the gross weight, net weight and tare with the aid of several operations. TARE calculation To calculate the tare, hang the appropriate element, e. g. an empty apple container from the dynamometer.
HANITO USER´S MANUAL GROSS WEIGHT Calculation To calculate the gross weight, press the "→T←" button. The GROSS WEIGHT (Fig. 11) will appear on the display. Figure 10 - NET WEIGHT Figure 11 - GROSS WEIGHT Summary In our example, the TARE (container) is 1638 kg, the NET WEIGHT (the apples) is 2850 kg and the GROSS WEIGHT (NET WEIGHT + TARE) is 4488 kg.
HANITO USER´S MANUAL 5.2.5. Negative TARE If a weight stored as tare is removed from the dynamometer, the dynamometer displays a negative tare on the display (Fig. 12), which means that the dynamometer has been loaded with a weight smaller than the value stored as a tare.
HANITO USER´S MANUAL 5.2.6. Overweight If the dynamometer is loaded with a weight exceeding the maximum allowable rated load, the display shows the message “Overweight” (Fig. 14). This message disappears automatically as soon as the applied load goes below the dynamometer’s rated load. A non-continuous dynamometer loading within 150-200% of the device rated load does not produce any deformation of the load cell.

REPLACING THE BATTERY If the message shown in Figure 15 is displayed on the dynamometer display, replace or recharge the battery according to the procedure described below.

HANITO USER´S MANUAL Replacing rechargeable batteries To replace or recharge rechargeable batteries, perform the steps precisely as described in the previous section. Simply, pull out the battery holder (C) and loosen the connector (G). Then, insert a new set of charged batteries or remove the empty batteries and recharge them externally.

MAINTENANCE OF BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES If you follow the detailed instructions described below for handling batteries and rechargeable batteries, you’ll achieve savings both for conventional batteries and for rechargeable batteries. HANITO USER´S MANUAL 7. MAINTENANCE Except for replacing or recharging the batteries, the HANITO dynamometer requires no maintenance care. 7.1. CLEANING To clean the dynamometer, never use grinding systems, solvents or wax compounds as these products could damage the finish. If an in-depth cleaning is required, use a cotton cloth moistened with soapy water and wipe the dynamometer carefully, then clean the device with the cloth.

The dynamometer you have purchased has been calibrated at works and no recalibration is required. To ensure the precision of the equipment, however, it can be recalibrated every two years. This calibration must be performed by an ITOWA S.A.U. technician. Only this technician is allowed to remove the dynamometer seal and reseal the calibration.

This warranty includes the replacement of all defective elements at our plant at your earliest convenience. Transportation and packing costs from and to our premises are not covered by this guarantee. Costs not expressly indicated in this contract are the responsibility of the customer.
