You can use MegaRAC™ Express to manage and monitor non-storage components in your servers through an external modem, direct serial connection, or the onboard network adapter, even when your network is down.

    How MegaRAC™ Express Works MegaRAC™ Express comes with software modules that provide operating system-specific services. These services interface with the MegaRAC™ Express hardware and provide access to the server from the hardware. The on- board firmware allows the Management Console to access the server using the server side services.

    MegaRAC™ Express Software Modules, The operating system-specific management services support the standard management protocols. An enterprise network system is typically run by a management application. This application is based upon certain management standards such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP.) Management through SNMP uses the in-band network.

    When the Server is Up and Running You can access any remote server using the MegaRAC™ Express card in it via Management console. The Management Console lets you see the remote server’s graphics as well as send commands to the server. This gives you full control over the remote server to perform other administrative tasks on the server.
