HOW TO REPLACE CHAIN SPROCKET Chain sprocket is to be replaced when its teeth show deep cuts in the order of a few mm. Apart from causing turning problems to the chain, an excessive use of the sprocket would damage it forever. Remove the sprocket cover and take out both bar and chain.
Page 39
GUIDE BAR MAINTENANCE Every 20/30 linear meters, remove the blade in order to clean the chain sliding channel. Pass a scraper through the blade channel to make sure that any sand or dirt residues are removed. Remount the blade turned through 180° for uniform wear (see Fig.
Page 40
CHAIN SHORTENING To shorten the chain, place it against the anvil with the tooth pointing upwards, match the first rivet under the chain-breaker tip and expel the rivet by pressing the lever; repeat the procedure for the second rivet as well. Repeat the same operation on the consecutive tooth by turning the chain.
Page 41
CHAIN RIVETING After having jointed the chain with the relative links, use the riveting machine to match the part of the rivet to be fitted on the side of the hexagonal head; use the threaded lever to take up the slack created by the deformation of the rivet during knob rotation (see Fig.
