Quick Start Guide
Introduction
The DVI-7311 is a Fiber Optic Extender designed to transmit single-link DVI signals over optical fiber
cables at distances up to 500 meters (1,640 ft.). This extender provides exceptional signal fidelity and
supports a wide range of input resolutions. The unit consists of an optical transmitter module that
converts the DVI input signal into high-speed light pulses for transmission over four (4) detachable
multi-mode glass fibers and an optical receiver module that converts the light pulses back to a DVI
signal for display on a monitor or projector. A programmable memory chip in the transmitter unit
captures and stores the EDID from the connected display and presents it to the DVI source device.
These features make the DVI-7311 the ideal solution for any application that demands flawless image
quality from DVI signals that must be extended over very long cable distances.
