The pulser is of a design unique to Kentech Instruments Ltd. It comprises many avalanche transistors delivering a single output that is shaped to give an optimum optical signal when used with a suitable pockels cell.

Click on the device that has an MAC address that matches that on the rear panel of the unit and then select “Assign IP”. The following will appear. If you select fixed IP address a window will open to allow you to set it. If you select assign IP address automatically, the following will appear. Select DHCP and then hit Next. The set up of the IP address is now complete. Quit Device Installer and launch a terminal program. The following assumes that Hyperterminal will be used. The electrical measurements, modified for the sin squared response of the cell, indicate that the transmission should be well below 10 of the peak transmission if the static extinction ratio is as good as this. The cell was mounted on a precision translation stage. The optical beam was set up normally to give high extinction using the isogyre pattern.
