    POWER The keyboard can be powered using the included power supply, or with 6 x AA batteries (not included.) Please pay attention to the correct polarity indicators when installing batteries and change them as soon as they get low. Remove the batteries if the instrument will not be used for a long period.

    CONNECTIONS SUSTAIN PEDAL HEADPHONES/ HEADPHONES/ SUSTAIN OUTPUT INPUT SUSTAIN OUTPUT INPUT An optional foot pedal (not supplied) can be connected to the SUSTAIN jack and, when pressed, HEADPHONES/ will cause the key sounds to decay slowly, as if they SUSTAIN OUTPUT INPUT were being held down.

    POWER SWITCH Before switching on the instrument, ensure the volume is set to minimum and connect any external audio equipment. Make sure the instrument is properly connected to the power supply. Press the power switch. The display will light up and “Loading!”...

    VOICE VOICE VOICES SELECTING A VOICE VOICE VOICE The keyboard has 480 different sounds (refer to sound list appendix on p.22 for details). Press the [VOICE] button to enter the voice mode. The display will show the current voice name and number.

    STYLES The keyboard has 240 rhythms or playing “styles” (refer to the style list for details.) Press the [STYLE] button to enter the style mode. Use the data dial, number keypad, or the [˅]/[˄] buttons to select the required style. Each rhythm style has been set with a default tempo.

    SHIFT TOUCH EFFECTS SHIFT SHIFT TOUCH TOUCH The touch response feature allows you to SHIFT TOUCH dynamically control the level of the keyboard’s response, allowing you to find the ideal level of key TOUCH response to suit your playing style. To enter the touch menu, hold down [SHIFT] and press the [TOUCH] button.

    OCTAVE This function allows you to raise or lower the pitch of the keyboard by an octave. To enter the octave menu, press the [OCTAVE] button. The display will show the current octave setting number and “Octave” Use the data dial or the [˅]/[˄] buttons to adjust the octave value as required.

    AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT The auto accompaniment feature puts a whole backing band at your fingertips. In this mode, all you have to do is play the chords with your left hand and the accompaniment will automatically play along in the style selected, instantly following the chords you play.

    TEMPO SHIFT ACCOMP PLAYING DIFFERENT ACCOMPANIMENT SECTIONS Press the [STYLE] button and select the required CHORD rhythm. Press the [CHORD] button to enter auto bass chord START/ SYNC INTRO/ (A.B.C) mode. STOP START ENDING FILL A FILL B Press the [SYNC START] button to prepare the accompaniment to start when playing begins.

    ONE TOUCH SETTINGS O.T.S. When One Touch Setting (O.T.S) is enabled, you can instantly recall auto accompaniment related settings – including voice selection and digital PERFORM. effects – with a single touch of a button. O.T.S. Press the O.T.S button to turn on this mode for the PERFORM.

    PERFORMANCE ASSISTANT SHIFT O.T.S. The keyboard features a “performance assistant” mode, featuring both guitar and piano options, and PERFORM. O.T.S. SHIFT allows various complex chord phrases to be easily performed. PERFORM. PERFORM LOW. Hold down [SHIFT] and then press the [PERFORM] button to enter the performance assistant mode.

    PIANO KEY MAP Piano Key Map This key map diagram shows how the different key sections are arranged in the piano mode. Rhythm Chord part Sub Area CHORD PART: Area Keys C2-B3. The chord played will be shown on the PERFORM LOW.

    DSP EFFECTS The DSP (digital signal processing) effect adds SHIFT ambience and depth to the sounds of the keyboard. Hold down [SHIFT] and then press the [DSP] button to turn the effect on or off. This function is turned on by default. Reverb and Chorus effects can also be added, accessed through the function menu.

    MIXER The mixer function can be used to adjust the SHIFT SHIFT individual tracks of your performances. Hold down [SHIFT] and then press the [MIXER] button repeatedly to scroll through the available tracks to edit. The selected mixer track will be shown on the display.

    FUNCTION MENU To enter the Function menu, hold down [SHIFT] and then press the [FUNCTION] button repeatedly to scroll through the available menu options. The selected function will be shown on the display. Use the data dial or [˅]/[˄] buttons to change the parameters, as detailed in the table below.

    SELECTING TRACKS The track indicators on the display have three states: blinking, light on or light off. A blinking light means the track is chosen for recording. If the track has recorded data, the original data will be replaced. A track with the light on indicates the track has data and will play back the data during recording.
