The mains power supply must be disconnected before the cover is removed. If this unit is used in a way that doesn’t comply with this manual its safety features may be impaired. The EMMA Power Throttle must be earthed in accordance with Figure 16 Mains Wiring and Earthing.
COMPONENTS INCLUDED WITH EMMA Your EMMA system is supplied with: Elite Controller EMMA 4G Power Throttle unit. Two 100Amp Current Transformers (CT’s) o Generation CT 100 Amp (May be larger or smaller depending on site requirements) o Import Export CT 100Amp (May be larger or smaller depending on site requirements) ...
Output Kit. PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS The dimensions of the EMMA 4G Power Throttle are 219mm wide (246mm wide with Aerial attached and upright) x 336.8mm high x 86.9mm deep. Weight 4.6kg The dimensions of the Elite are 147mm wide x 87mm high x 36mm deep. Weight 212g The dimensions of the power supply match a standard DIN rail mountable doorbell transformer with basic dimensions of 88mm high x 65mm deep x 36mm wide.

ELITE INSTALLATION ELITE WALL MOUNTING PROCEDURE The Elite is normally installed in a convenient location under the Fuseboard. 1. Use a mini level to align the Elite backing box on the desired surface. 2. Holding the box in place mark the mounting surface through the 4 openings.
POWER SUPPLY TO THE ELITE PROCEDURE: Using 0.75mm2 cable run a 3 core cable to the Elite Touch from the Earth Elite PSU The output of the PSU is <12VAC and should be connected to terminal J6 on the Elite Board as indicated in Figure 6 Elite Power Supply Wiring.
IMPORT EXPORT CT WIR ING Import Export CT PROCEDURE: The Import Export CT should be connected to the two ports on J4 nearest the J4 label. Signal cable to The black wire should be connected to the first port. Elite The red wire should be connected to the second port.
CONNECT EARTH Fuse PROCEDURE board An Earth cable should be connected to port 5 from right to left reading from right to left from the J4 label. The earth wire should be connected to the 5th port as indicated. XBee Tighten screws to make sure of a correct termination.
POWER THROTTLE INSTA LLATION POWER THROTTLE WALL MOUNTING POWER THROTTLE LID S CREWS 1. Remove the 4 side screws from the EMMA 4G Power Throttle. 2. Lift the lid off the Power Throttle carefully as there is an earth bond lead between the chassis and the lid.
EXTENDED EARTH INCOM ING POWER OUTPUT TO LOAD POWER INPUT FROM MAINS LEAD WITH RING TERMINAL TERMINATION TO SCREW CONNECTION. Figure 16 Mains Wiring and Earthing POWER THROTTLE TEMP SENSOR WIRING The Temperature Sensor if supplied as part of the system connects to the Thermostat1 input header on the OPB Control Board as illustrated in Figure 17 OPB Control input board located in Power Throttle.
In the absence of an oil/gas-fired boiler, EMMA simply draws additional electricity from the grid to bring the water to the desired temperature for the time periods you choose if there isn’t enough electricity from the renewable generator.

PAIRING PROCESS PROCEDURE The unit will boot into the Power Throttle pairing screen. The PT MAC Address will appear between 5s and 30s This should match the MAC Address written on the side of the Power Throttle. Press yes when the correct address is displayed. The unit will hold this screen for c180 seconds during its self calibration process and then display the home screen.
VERIFICATION OF OPER ATION Figure 23. Home Screen and Operations. PROCEDURE Part of the proper commissioning of our Elite system is to observe the units reaction in normal operating circumstances. 1. Press the Boost Off Button to on. The Tank power should increase to reflect the power of the immersion, typically 2.7kW.
2. Fault turns off after 5 seconds once it has completed its temperature and voltage check. 3. Wireless begins flashing 0.5 seconds on and 0.5 seconds off after a further 5 seconds if the EMMA control has been turned on.
WIRELESS FAULT CONDI TION SEQUENCE (ONLY ON WIRELESS UNITS): The following sequence indicates that the transmitter is either not powered up, is out of range or is faulty. No power will be sent to the immersion in this condition from start-up. If this condition occurs during operation the Throttle unit will detect a broken link and stop sending power to the immersion after 3 seconds of the link dropping.
